Buhari Cloning: A Possibility?

The Buhari Cloning Conspiracy

Our first ‘Afrospiracy’ is on the Buhari Cloning controversy on whether Nigerian President Buhari was cloned following a stay of over 100 days in London for treatment.

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has insisted that the current Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, was cloned in London…In his view, the Buhari Cloning is an undeniable fact.

Asari predicated his claim on the fact that the president struggled to deliver his Independence Day speech.

The former Militant leader maintained that while the president was reading his speech, it would be observed that the “man they have in Aso Rock” was “trying to mimic” the original Buhari.

This is quite an extraordinary claim, and we investigate this Afrospiracy by looking at whether the official word on the status of Cloning Technology makes this Human Cloning Afrospiracy possible.

Cloning Technology

As recently as the year 2000, it seemed almost inevitable that rogue scientists would start human cloning any day. Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell, was born in 1997.

Despite significant advances made since then, there are however some significant barriers to human cloning that remain, and they’re not only scientific ones.

For one thing: the technology that created Dolly the sheep in the 90s is simply inefficient, as MIT Tech Review explains only one of 100 cloned embryos led to a live birth, and some of those that make it are born with fatal birth defects.

So given the science we have now, it would still require a significant number of failed human pregnancies, so it’s hard to imagine ethics committees allowing the research to happen.

Buhari Cloning Unlikely

That pressure alone may be enough to keep rogue scientists from trying anything, even in places where there are no legal limits on the practice. At least, for now.

In this context, its highly unlikely that President Buhari was cloned in London unless it was part of some Top Secret Black Operation which is always possible but still unlikely in my view…I find it hard to believe this particular Afrospiracy.
