The Identity Of The Elohim and Nephilim: Unexpected Bible
If one hasnt encountered the research of such people as former Vatican Translator Mario Biglino, Its not unreasonable to be skeptical about the Ancient Astronaut Theory because of what at first sight appear to be its outlandish claims.
The basic premise of the hypothesis that Mankind and Civilization are the result of deliberate Extraterrestrial intervention beginning more than 450 000 years ago is so different from the established Historical narrative it is frequently just dismissed as ‘ridiculous’ without serious consideration.
However, an understanding of the sources relied upon by Ancient Astronaut Theorists is in my view important in determining whether or not the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis holds any weight.
One of the most frequent criticisms leveled at the Hypothesis particularly in the case of Zechariah Sitchin’s work is that the Theory is based on a mistranslation of the Original Sumerian Texts. This would be a valid criticism if it were completely true, but the findings of other independent researchers not initially interested in the Ancient Astronaut Theory themselves points to another conclusion, and raises legitimate questions about the mistranslation argument.
The Elohim and Nephilim In The Works Of Mauro Biglino
Mauro Biglino is a former Vatican Translator who translated 23 books of the Bible for the Vatican, and has translated the Leningrad Codex (the version of the Bible which all three major monotheistic religions – Christian, Jewish and Muslim – recognize as the official Bible) from the Hebrew, word by word, literally and with no interpretation whatsoever.
In the course of translating the Bible, he discovered that many of the stories were deliberately given mistranslated Theological interpretations that were not consistent with the actual original Hebrew Text.
In his view, the actual story told in the Bible was of the activities of an Extraterrestrial Race on Earth…For instance, the story in Genesis was not originally a story of Creation from nothing, but was instead about the division of an already existing place amongst the Sumerian Elohim ‘Gods’ referred to in the original Texts.
In the course of Biblical translation, the original context was altered in order to insert a Theological meaning to the stories that does not exist in the original. This has been accomplished by mistranslating words and giving them Theological meanings they do not bear in the original in order to impose a retrospective worldview and interpretation of the original Texts that did not exist at the time they were written.
In Mauro’s understanding, the Bible doesn’t talk about an eternal unerring God, neither about something divine, but it reveals a different story about the origin of human being on Earth. In his view, the Bible cannot talk about a divine unerring God because the concept itself did not even exist to the original authors, therefore they could not have written about a concept that was completely alien to their culture.
Mauro’s research culminated in his book “THE BOOK THAT WILL FOREVER CHANGE OUR IDEAS ABOUT THE BIBLE – THE GODS COMING FROM SPACE”, after which he was suspended by the Vatican.
In the final analysis, Mauro’s work supports Sitchin’s work and that of other researchers in the field. It suggests that we should perhaps consider the implications of Ancient Sumerian Texts like the Lost Book Of Enki based on what they say without attempting to add our own interpretations.
